Each year, thousands of drivers find themselves unnecessarily involved in unsafe driving conditions. In many cases, the source of the problem is simply a driver’s failure to regularly inspect their vehicle to make sure it is operating properly. This is particularly true when towing a trailer. Whether it is a recreational vehicle being towed or a piece of equipment for work, most drivers forget to inspect their trailer because it’s not part of their everyday driving routine. Adding to this problem is the fact that many drivers have minimal experience or training towing trailers.

If the situation came up, how well prepared would you be to tow a trailer? Proper preparation before you start your trip always makes good safety sense.

This “One Second Advantage™” Safety Tip covers several key maintenance items which should be at the top of everyone’s list for regular inspection. Of course, every driver needs to be vigilant and immediately address any other issues in a vehicle’s performance before they become failure points. Your safety depends on it.
